| Earlier this year choreographer
Sioned Huws was on a residency at Aomori Contemporary
Arts Centre in northern Japan, where in deep winter
there are continuous snow storms.
“The repetitive action of snow falling
slows the heart-beat, as the body is overwhelmed
by a desire to be still. The repetitive, silent
snow fall, has no sympathy. In these extreme situations
the body has no choice but to challenge its own
desires.”
Dancer Reina Kimura from Aomori joins Sioned
on a cultural exchange residency at Chapter during
June and July to complete this new work. |
