Llanover Hall
Hummadruz
by Stuart H. Bawler, Shining Wits Productionsperformed by Llanover Hall Youth Theatre

The hummadruz is a sound, heard in the countryside on hot summer days, that comes from nowhere – it has been described as the sound of the Earth rotating or the true ‘Music of the Spheres’. It has been documented for hundreds of years.

Performed entirely under ultra-violet light, this performance is designed to stimulate and mystify the optic nerve, excite and confuse the eardrum and physically exercise the audience.

More akin to a Club-Night than a classical play, the cast use circus, mime and masks to illustrate music in an awe-inspiring way, all of which will glow-in-the-dark. Prog-rock soundscapes generate a streamer-laden atmosphere; Hard Techno will call forth Alien creatures and 16 foot high giant robots. The mostly friendly life forms will want to dance with you and you will want to dance back!

Suitable for ages 7 and up. Advisory: Loud music and ultra-violet light.
