| “Dance is perhaps the most
difficult art form, in which every movement, gesture,
look – if done well – is repeated
invention. So often the futility overwhelms. The
challenge is, perhaps, to embody what might be
worth devoting such painstaking care to every
detail of each muscle in a framework of time that
can draw architectures of thinking which continue
to open into ever more complex structures and
usually dead-ends; but with perhaps if one looks
carefully, the smallest door, inviting one to
look more deeply, at the hollowness of the form,
at the folly of invention, and see beauty.”
