about

I am delighted to introduce the third edition of Passion, Cardiff’s City of Drama Festival, this year taking place across the summer at the multiple spaces of Chapter Arts Centre.

For 2008, Passion widens its focus from drama to also include outstanding artists in the fields of dance and music from Wales and across the world. Featuring new works commissioned and produced at Chapter STIWDIO and launching the newly converted Y Llofft, Passion offers a celebration of an historic space to see extraordinary performers at work, building up a language of excellence and bridges that allow different artforms (cinema, music, theatre, visual arts, dance) to inform and provoke each other. From the playing-out of stories to a movement through space, a projected image on a wall to words spoken and the sound of a voice, instruments and song from distant places, I hope in these events Passion 08 will inspire all that visit.
